What is included in a stay at Venice Fishing Lodge?
Your package includes guided fishing, lodging, meals, baits, tackle, fuel and fish cleaning.
What’s not included in my stay at Venice Fishing Lodge?
Guide and house gratuities, fishing licenses, alcoholic beverages on the boats, and rain gear are not included.
Can we fish with four anglers to a boat?
Yes. It is the same price as fishing three anglers to a boat ($525/per person); however, it can diminish the overall experience of your trip. We highly recommend fishing 2-3 anglers per boat.
Do you mix groups in the same room or boat?
At no time will you be sharing a bedroom or boat with someone other than your group.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes. A three-day charter pass is $20.00 and can be purchased online here.
What do I need to bring for fishing trips?
Rain gear, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat and a cooler if you want to take fish home.
What kind of fish will I catch and what are the bag limits?
Redfish - slot limit 16”-27” and bag limit 5 / Speckled Trout - minimum length 12” and bag limit 25 / Flounder - no size limit, bag limit 10 / Black Drum - slot limit 16”-27” and bag limit 5
How long do we fish each day?
Trips are typically eight hours dock to dock.
Are lunch and drinks provided on the boat?
Yes. We pack lunches and snacks with water and soft drinks.
Is alcohol provided?
Beer and wine are provided at the lodge. Alcohol is allowed on the boats but must be provided by the angler.
Where is the closest airport to Venice Fishing Lodge?
Louis Armstrong International in New Orleans, a 1 ½ hour drive to the lodge.
Is the lodge smoke free?
Yes.
Is internet available?
Yes. We offer wireless internet in the lodge.
Are pets allowed?
No.
When is check-in and check-out time?
Check-in is 3 pm and check-out time is after fishing your last day or if you are staying an extra night, any time the morning after.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. Reservations are not considered firm until deposit is received.
Does VFL do offshore trips?
Yes. We partner with one of the premier offshore outfitters in Venice.
How do I get my fish home?
If you are flying, we recommend you bring a rolling ice chest. We will gladly package and freeze your fish to be checked at the airport. Another option is to have your catch shipped to your doorstep. Venice Marina provides overnight service for an additional fee (based on zip code and overall weight - this method tends to be costly).
What if I have a food allergy?
Please advise us if you have a specific food allergy before you arrive so we can make special arrangements. We will accommodate!
